Hello, my name is Richard Moreno and I am the Principal for OFL- Duarte. I attended CSUN and received a BA in Journalism. After spending some time working as a journalist, I went back to school to get my teaching credential to teach English. I have a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from CSUDH. When I am not working, I enjoy camping with my wife and two kids. You may also find me running or biking the Rose bowl loop from time to time. My favorite part about working here is seeing our students walk across the graduation stage, because it's proof that each student can accomplish their goals if they put their mind and effort into it.

Hi, my name is Jacob Abriel and I am a Teacher at OFL Duarte. This is my first year teaching and I am currently working to finish my teaching credential and Master's degree and Cal State LA. I attended UC Santa Barbara for my undergrad and majored in Political Science. Education has been the tool that has helped me to excel in life. I wanted to become a teacher to give students this tool and empower them to have agency in their own lives. My favorite hobbies are hiking, backpacking, biking, and really anything that gets me outdoors. I have a house full plants and love that I share with my partner Sarah, two cats Pepper Jack and Cheddar, and a dog Abbey (aka Pizza Bones).

Hi, I'm Susana Guerra and I'm the English Language Coach for our region. I attended Azusa Pacific University where I majored in English with a concentration in Teaching. I also have a Master's Degree in Digital Education. I enjoy working with students who are non-native English speakers because I believe they are some of the hardest working students in our school. Plus, to me they are also some of the funniest! I truly love doing what I do, but when I am not working you can find me impulse shopping at Target.

Hi! I attended ELAC for 1 and 1/2 years, CSULA for 2 years. My major was Social Science, thus my love of history and Government. Then moved on to APU for my credential and masters degree in Special Education. I am married and have 3 fantastic children and I am a grandma to 4 beautiful kids. They bring me so much joy. I love to be fancy and bougie but give me a tent in the middle of nowhere and I am equally happy. I love to read, swim, travel, sleep, cook, coffee, Diet Coke, and spend time with my family. I love teaching and my students are all my kids!

Hello, my name is Melissa Martinez and I am the Enrollment Outreach Specialist. I have been at OFY and OFL for the past 6 years and have been in education for more than 10 years. I enjoy being able to serve families and students from different communities and being able to give students a second chance because they needed a different learning environment. I am proud to work at a school that makes a difference in people's lives because I am a firm believer that not all students learn the same way. It is great walking families through the enrollment process and being able to check up with them along their OFL/ OFY journey. Aside from work, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and my two boys are adventurous and we all love being outdoors and traveling. Our home away from home is the California central coast. I also enjoy crafting and cooking!
